I am a life-long learner. Currently, I am in a Senior Software Engineer role, specialized in Digital Signal Processing of audio: music, and speech. I help my team develop, innovate, and maintain the AI-powered audio stack of Microsoft's real-time communication solutions, including Microsoft Teams, GroupMe, Microsoft Mesh, PSTN cloud, and M365 Copilot voice mode.

My work directly impacts the audio reliability and quality that over 300 million monthly active users experience in their virtual meetings, and their voice interactions with AI agents. My work also helps empower thousands of businesses worldwide through Azure Communication Services (ACS), which is Microsoft’s Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS).

## Work Experience
### Senior Software Engineer @ Microsoft
Jan 2023 – Present | Redmond, Washington, United States
I design, implement, and integrate advanced digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms and AI models to enhance real-time communication experiences, ensuring best-in-class audio quality across diverse networks and devices.

With a deep understanding of signal processing, data analysis, and software architecture, I contribute to cutting-edge solutions that power platforms like Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Mesh, M365 Copilot voice mode, PSTN cloud, and Azure Communication Services. I write efficient, scalable, and extensible code while leveraging statistical insights to drive performance improvements.

I have also contributed to different stages of the training, integration, and deployment of AI models for real-time audio processing: noise suppression, echo cancellation, and packet loss concealment.

Some of the most impactful projects I have worked on are about bringing the top audio features from Teams desktop to the web platform using modern technologies like WebAssembly, and to the cloud platform for PSTN endpoints. For the PSTN scenario, my work to implement AI-based noise suppression helped reduced the volume of monthly noise reports by 75%.

### Software Engineer @ BairesDev
Jan 2020 – Jan 2021
I was offered a Python Developer position after being one of the top 3 winners of a Python tournament organized by BairesDev, the fastest-growing technology solutions company in Latin America.

For about half a year, I delivered valuable software for one of BairesDev's customers in the US: HelloFresh. I was mainly responsible for the back-end of one of their core systems that optimizes the logistics of daily food orders. Its performance was of paramount importance for several internal processes, from food warehousing to box shipping.

### Research And Development Engineer @ CopSonic

Over five years as a Research & Development Engineer at CopSonic, a startup with novel acoustic/ultrasound technologies for authentication, payments, and device positioning, using the speakers and microphones of any mobile phone.

I contributed to many projects, and I was the main contributor to two projects:
- a new codec for secure and robust data transmission in the near-ultrasonic frequency bands.
- a novel indoor positioning system to locate and track mobile devices.
