At SMART, I lead the frontend development for both patient- and provider-facing portals in a React-based web application, enabling users to access medical records, wearable device data, and an AI-powered assistant.
- Frequently act as a de facto product manager, transforming ambiguous feature ideas into fully designed, functional, and user-friendly experiences with minimal initial direction.
- Design and build reusable UI components and workflows tailored to diverse user roles—from patients to anesthesiologists—ensuring clinical relevance and usability.
- Conduct UX research and competitor analysis to inform design and feature decisions; iterate rapidly based on founder and expert feedback.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with backend engineers to define and refine APIs and data models, ensuring frontend requirements are met efficiently.

At Dr. Treat, I worked on our patient portal and veterinary practice management apps, which enabled pet parents to book appointments and manage health records, and allowed vets and techs to quickly and reliably give quality care to their patients
- Collaborated on a team of 5 engineers to develop a comprehensive veterinary practice management app and patient portal
- Led the design and architecture of major features, such as a hospital scheduling tool, invoice and payment system, admin management, and task and memo tools
- Spearheaded a complete app redesign, quickly iterated on feedback from in-clinic staff, and wrote extensive tests to limit regression bugs
- Used React, React Native, and CoreUI as frameworks and leveraged third-party packages including FullCalendar, Stripe, Algolia, Rollbar, Cloudinary, and Dixa
