I am a software engineer at Starburst working at the intersection of Kafka, Iceberg and Trino. Additionally I also lead our AI initiatives

I was a software engineer at Twitter. I worked on the Kafka team specifically focussing on Kafka connect that at peak sent billions of events in realtime across different storage platforms in Twitter like Kafka, Google Pubsub, Manhattan (KV store) etc. Before that i was in the SQL team where we used open source systems like Presto and Druid to solve Twitter's massive data analysis problems.

Before Twitter, I was a PhD at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. In my PhD, I worked on storage problems in big data platforms like MongoDB, Cassandra, Druid, etc. I have built systems that solves problems with sharding, replication, caching in these systems under high load. Before joining PhD, I have worked at Adobe (3 years) building InDesign.
