Designed an app from concept to launch
• Led a design process that included 35 problem interviews, 3 clickable prototypes and 21 solution interviews before writing a single line of code.
• Found product/market fit and then designed the user experience and high-fidelity mock-ups including the out-of-box experience, detail views, edge-case scenarios, and settings.
• Pushed code to perfect the visual design and added a few delightful details while teaching myself Objective-C.
Results? Our users love it. We have an 8.33% day 14 unbounded daily retention rate and 5.99% click-through rate on our best performing ad.
User experience, visual design and research for our flagship iOS app
• Designed the first prototype of the initial concept, interpreting the CEO’s initial idea into something the CTO could start coding.
• As the team grew and a full-time senior visual designer was hired, I started doing more technical and process-driven work. Wrote simple Javascript prototypes for interaction ideas, led team meetings to brainstorm and prioritize new features based on user feedback, and designed and coded the landing page for launch.
• Once the app was designed, the most important thing to do was get users, so I created our Campus Ambassador program from scratch. In 4 months, I recruited, interviewed, and managed more than 30 Campus Ambassadors across 12 campuses for a program I designed and maintained. I also ran on-campus growth programs at Cal Poly and UC Berkeley like flash deals and orientation deals for thousands of students.
