Portfolio: mariellepalatino.com ## Work Experience ### Senior UX / UI Designer @ Sysdig Jan 2025 – Jan 2025 | San Francisco, California, United States Sysdig helps companies keep their cloud environments secure! (SaaS, 700+ enterprise customers) I designed a new identity dashboard (CIEM) that helps security teams to discover, investigate, and then resolve access risks in a single, uninterrupted workflow. This was a short-term contract to backfill another designer's maternity leave, and happy to say that I accomplished all the projects planned for my contract! ### UX Designer III @ Dragos, Inc. Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 I designed for their flagship product (B2B, 250+ companies), which protects critical infrastructure against cyberattacks. My work ranged from designing new features, like Health & Status visualizations, RBAC, Sensor Pairing, Reporting, as well as leading designs for new product initiatives (Active Scanning, CentralStore). While my team and I were gaining momentum on a new product initiative, we unfortunately were affected by multiple company restructurings and RIFs in 2024. The experiences and design team were invaluable, but on to the next opportunity! ### UX Designer II @ Dragos, Inc. Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 ### UX Designer @ Dragos, Inc. Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 ### Freelance UX/UI Designer @ Unknown Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 LinkedIn doesn't do a great job at showing multiple periods of work, but to this day, I pick up freelance work when the timing and right project align! I helped technical startups with design work, including web and logo and designs, usability testing, and responsive designs (Nasus Medical, TSD, Xesto, Inc., Helen's Foundry). ### Research Assistant @ Fornia BioSolutions, Inc. Jan 2015 – Jan 2020 | Hayward, CA I helped design the UI for internal tools in a biotech startup that specializes in enzyme engineering. I also created and edited a range of promotional materials, as well as led the company's website redesign with an agency and content writer. My biochemist responsibilities included library construction, assay development, high throughput screening, as well as training new hires with automation and lab safety techniques. I'm also humbled to be credited as a co-inventor in the company's patent: Variant G6P G7P Glucoamylase Compositions and Methods (Publication #WO/2020/131252, Jun 2020)! White I had a wonderful 5 years working with the Fornia Biosolutions team, I decided on a major career change to pursue a more creative (but still driven by data) field — UX Design! I'm grateful for all the creative projects at Fornia that helped spark my interest in pursing design full-time. ## Education ### Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Minor in Art Studio University of California, Davis ### UX / UI Design (Full-time) Designlab ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/marielle-palatino --- Source: https://flows.cv/mariellep JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/mariellep/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
