Experience
2024 — Now
2024 — Now
Redwood City, California, United States
• Rearchitected UI and underlying workflows across the application using Angular Material, working with external designers to deliver smoother, more intuitive interfaces for precision lab instrumentation.
• Leading an overhaul of core app architecture to replace Windows dialog interception with direct automation software API integration, enabling cleaner, more reliable control of instrument workflows.
• Migrated all API endpoints to HTTPS with robust error handling, improving security and reliability for a high-precision instrument with zero-tolerance workflow failure
• Enhanced the Advanced Recovery Mode, a vital system that recovers an instrument from failure states, protecting expensive samples and ensuring workflow continuity in critical lab settings
• Revamped an internal error simulation tool, enabling reproducible test scenarios and improving software validation across workflows on sensitive instruments
• Drove critical work on the installer handling software upgrades, downgrades, and configuration management; prepared image PCs for final instruments deployed to customers
2020 — 2023
2020 — 2023
San Jose, California, United States
• Architected and implemented Instrument Configuration Manager for a next-generation, flag-shipped flow cytometer to handle multiple lasers and enable quick, seamless transition between different configurations
• Coordinated with software and firmware teams to integrate additional functionality and parameters into configuration manager
• Collaborated with Chief Software Architect to design and create APIs for experiment workflow
• Worked with UX/UI teams to enhance various pages on the application to improve overall usability and readability
• Refactored and optimized web components to enable faster component and image load time; revised workflow to drastically reduce turn-around time for verification and release of web components
• Worked with developer and QA teams to quickly and effectively squash high impact and priority bugs
2019 — 2019
2019 — 2019
San Jose, California
• Worked with team of SW developers to understand new multi-board Mosaic instrument requirements and challenges for Debian Linux based boards; analyzed existing firmware installation process (mostly manual)
• Assisted hardware engineer in configuring instrument prototype and setting up installation environment
• Designed and implemented universal firmware installation script (bash) for different boards to perform backup, installation, post-deployment sanity check and roll-back for failed installs
• Collaborated with Software Architect to ensure new script meets company’s policies, style and security requirements
• Re-worked master-script (PowerShell) to generate and deploy individual tar-packages for each instrument board, eliminated hardcoded passwords by replacing them with ssh-keys authentication
2018 — 2018
Santa Clara, CA
• Enhanced build and release packaging scripts (bash) to run in non-interactive mode
• Created new build projects in continuous integration server (Jenkins) to execute scripts in non-interactive mode
• Identified and fixed issues; updated Jira bug tracking system with completed tasks and enhancements
2017 — 2017
Santa Clara, California
• Collaborated with Mac OS QA team in creating framework in Xcode to automate unit tests
• Debugged and fixed bugs in Perforce Review Daemon (Python)
• Applied automation techniques for generating nightly build reports
