# Mark Lamb > Principal Product Designer · Design Systems · ex-Google/Uber/Adobe Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/marklamb I’m a Design Lead with over 20 years of experience shaping high-impact digital products across consumer, B2B, and developer platforms. I’ve led design at Uber, Google, and Adobe — owning projects from vision to execution and helping teams solve complex problems in high-stakes environments. I bring deep expertise in UX, UI, design systems, and motion design, paired with a pragmatic, product-driven approach. I contribute both as a hands-on designer and as a leader — mentoring teams, elevating craft, and connecting design vision with product strategy. I work at the intersection of product, brand, and growth — where craft, clarity, and delight matter as much as adoption, engagement, and retention. I love shipping products that make a difference — and I’m particularly excited about AI’s potential. ## Work Experience ### Principal Product Designer (Consultant) @ Mark Lamb, LLC Jan 2017 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area I’ve been operating as an independent consultant since leaving Uber in 2017, with a brief full-time stint at Google before returning to client work. I work with early-stage startups and product teams at scale to design and ship products across AI, mobile, and B2B SaaS. With startups, I help take products from 0→1 by clarifying the idea, shaping the first version, and aligning the team around what they’re actually building. With teams at scale, I focus on improving product quality and how teams ship — design systems, motion, and the foundational structure that keeps large surfaces consistent and helps teams execute with a higher level of craft. ### Design Advisor (Fractional Head of Design) @ Mark Lamb, LLC Jan 2017 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area I work with early-stage startups as a design advisor, bringing senior design leadership to teams that don't yet need a full-time Head of Design. The work is high-leverage: shaping product vision and roadmaps, stress-testing ideas, untangling complex UX problems, keeping teams focused on what matters, and raising the quality bar across the product. ### Staff UX Designer, Google Maps @ Google Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Sydney, New South Wales, Australia I joined Google in Sydney as a Staff UX Designer for Google Maps right at the start of COVID, working on public transit and multimodal features. The focus was on shipping time-sensitive updates that riders and transit agencies needed during the pandemic. I also contributed new components and design guidelines to the Maps design system to support multimodal navigation. ### Staff Product Designer, Developer Platform @ Uber Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 | San Francisco Bay Area I joined Uber in San Francisco as Staff Product Designer to lead design for the Developer Platform, shaping how external developers built with Uber's API. The work included designing reusable components, SDKs, design guidelines, quickstarts, and examples that made integrations faster and more predictable. I partnered directly with Spotify, Foursquare, and LinkedIn to guide their integrations and ensure cohesive in-app experiences. After the first major redesign of the Rider app launched, I shifted to the Rider side, focusing on the core platform and design system. ### Staff Experience Designer, Marketing Cloud @ Adobe Jan 2014 – Jan 2016 | San Francisco Bay Area I joined Adobe in San Francisco as Staff Experience Designer on the Marketing Cloud Core Platform, working on cross-product features like notifications and collaboration, as well as directly on the Dynamic Tag Manager product. I also helped co-found Spectrum, Adobe’s design system, and contributed to it through its initial release, focusing on motion and interaction design for the core components and writing production CSS for the front-end framework and documentation site. ### Group Manager, Experience Design, APAC @ Avanade Jan 2008 – Jan 2014 | Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Originally hired as one of the first three designers in Australia, I grew the Experience Design consulting organization to 60 designers across six countries in APAC. I built the practice from the ground up — defining the engagement model, hiring and developing the team, setting career paths, and establishing the processes that integrated UX into every major project. I partnered with executives across the region on resourcing, planning, and strategic enterprise proposals, and worked with global design leadership in North America and Europe to align standards and coordinate cross-region staffing. I also ran an innovation lab at the Seattle head office, leading executive workshops and prototyping future-state solutions based on the latest Microsoft technologies. ### Founding Designer @ ZAP Jan 2007 – Jan 2008 | Brisbane Area, Australia I was the founding designer for a Business Intelligence startup, shaping everything from brand and marketing through to the UX and UI of a suite of enterprise web products. I set the early design direction and built the core visual and interaction foundations the product grew from. ### Design Lead @ Diggy Jan 2003 – Jan 2006 | Brisbane Area, Australia I led the design team for a boutique web agency, working hands-on across client projects while mentoring and directing the designers. I managed up to ~50 concurrent projects, shaped the design process, and made sure work shipped at a consistently high standard across the team. ### Web Designer/Animator @ Ispye Jan 2001 – Jan 2002 | Brisbane Area, Australia I designed and built marketing sites and interactive games for an online casino, blending visual design, front-end implementation, and Flash animation. ## Education ### Diploma in Multimedia QANTM ### NLP Practitioner NLP Institute of California ### NLP Professional Coach NLP Institute of California ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/marklambdesign - Portfolio: https://marklamb.com --- Source: https://flows.cv/marklamb JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/marklamb/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
