# Marlon Bishop > Product Designer / Agentic Builder Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/marlonbishop I'm a product designer in Silicon Valley with a goal of building expressive products for enduring consumer brands. One of my proudest achievements was as employee #100 at PGP Corporation, helping grow UX design and research in our journey to ensure privacy for both consumers and enterprise, to our acquisition in 2010 by Symantec. It was a career-forming opportunity where I got to learn about one of the most human-rights affirming pieces of technology (public key encryption) before most normies ever heard of it, and long before the Bitcoin boom. I worked as hard possible to crack issues presented in the seminal usability paper, “Why Johnny Can’t Encrypt” (many issues still persist with many crypto wallets of today). I got to work alongside and learn from some mind-blowingly inventive developers, security experts and business leaders. At the moment I'm exploring the how GenAI and low-code can enable new middle markets, accelerate processes and test market fit for developers in enterprise. In terms of UX hats worn, I have gravitated towards data visualization, design systems, and prototyping. My philosophy in the context of enterprise design systems is DAARP (Design artifacts at a Reasonable Price) - something I borrowed from "GARP" in the world of finance, where we don't just invest all-out in a design systems slippery slope where need may not be demonstrated. Systems just like product should be in lockstep with a given product roadmap, evergreen but not necessarily greenfield and blue skies. I too am exploring the GenAI landscape between product design and dev, and the potential for MCP/API applications to help design systems achieve CI/CD. Like many, midway through my career I began asking how can we tame this beast we call "handoff", so that we can ever begin to ask the bigger and more life-fulfilling questions of how we improve user experiences. ## Work Experience ### Principal Design Leader @ Independent Consultant Jan 2023 – Present | San Mateo County, CA I provide design leadership, UX design, prototyping, and web services.
