My life has always been mired with Technology and Business. I can recall multiple trips - at the age of five - with my Father where he’d take me to his mini Las Vegas casino/s.  My Father would shuffle me from room to room discussing the different aspects of his business.  What piqued my interest the most, were the slot machines. He opened them up and I noticed similar parts to that of my computer. I inquired!  A lot of people don’t know this, slot machines are algorithmically programmed and my Dad controlled how often his customers won and lost. I was hooked! When I observed how a computer could be used to provide a fun experience, take many different forms and create a business, my life began to revolve around technology. 

Later in life, during my college years, the prior years of Tech and Business, would come heavily into play. My partner and I, built a social network for sports fans; a new way to engage, communicate and cheer your favorite teams. We designed a new algorithm that would rank fans versus their friends and other people they connected to on the application.  We hired software engineers from India. There were immense challenges which ultimately, led me traveling to Pune, India on multiple occasions to ensure the product went live. I played multiple roles: CEO, Product Manager, QA Engineer, Marketing Lead, et cetera. These were the cultivating moments that led to me making a career pivot & immersing myself into Software Development.

I equally enjoy both sides of a full stack application, front and back end. I prefer using React with Redux, Node with Express and any of the primary Sql and NoSql databases. I am detail oriented; planning before I code.  On one occasion, I loaded a database with one-billion records to test the efficiency, latency and query time of all front-end APIs for the project.  Technology is not the end-all, it has to make business sense. That’s where I am unique, sitting at the intersection of both Technology and Business.
