After completing two years of college and getting accepted for transfer as a junior math major at UCLA, I decided to put off my transfer to found Umedoc, a healthcare startup. After a year of running Umedoc, I returned to studying for a degree in Creative Computing, determined to apply what I learned by working as a software engineer at the same time. After years of experience at Funding Circle, I moved on to Aptible and now Gusto, and I'm loving it! :)  

I love to work on interesting and challenging software problems and writing code that people will actually use, and enjoy using! I also enjoy making beautiful web pages and making features as easy to use as possible.

- Built integrations with multiple services including GSuite, Github, to import asset data into the Comply product (security and compliance management) so that users could manage their company's assets (people, groups, databases, vendors, etc.) at a single source.
- Significantly refactored integration and authentication logic to reduce code required per integration and simplify internal interfaces, saving hours of time and effort per integration. 
- Built a dashboard to track multiple sets of company risks as they changed over time

Technical Lead for the Growth Engineering team working on constant improvements to the borrower experience via A/B testing as well as integrations with business partners.

Projects: 

- Implementation and A/B testing of a new borrower application flow, updated with more modern technology (React) and design to provide a quicker, smoother experience. 
- Partner API integrations with other businesses to allow them to refer customers to us more easily
- A/B testing multiple smaller features and borrower flow adjustments

### Software Engineer @ Funding Circle US

Designing and implementing distributed systems using Ruby (Rails) and Clojure, in both the borrower and investor domains

Projects: 
- An API for Intuit and other lenders to use so they can refer their customers to our platform. Written in Clojure, communicating with multiple Ruby and Rails applications
- New borrower dashboard so current borrowers can see more information about their current loan applications, and "reloan" experience to encourage our customers to take a second loan with us and make it easier for them
- A fuzzy-matching service that matches the borrowers we have sent direct mails to with those applying online, so that they still get the monetary benefits of being part of that cohort. 
- Migration from old architecture on Rackspace to AWS by rewriting Postgres database triggers making API calls into the corresponding Rails app.
- The ISA investment product and account creation in the UK, which allows our retail investors to invest in small businesses with pre-tax funds, including the online portion of the bank transfer process.
