Focusing on the fundamental elements of moving UX work through to completion, I was hired to build out Design Operations for Avalara's globally-distributed Product Experience Group (PXG).
• Managed PXG’s participation in Avalara’s SDLC, PDLC, and Quarterly & Yearly Planning.
• Created Capacity Tracking reporting in Jira & Confluence, enhancing management visibility, enabling better prioritization, and improving awareness of key team-performance metrics.
• Streamlined administration of design & research-related tools (including Dovetail, Figma, FullStory, & Miro) through enhanced documentation (usage & procurement) and improved tool configuration.
• Automated key demand-grooming tasks using Jira & Slack to enhance the quality of work requests in Jira, enhance the quality of reporting dashboards, and remove distractions from UX teams.
• Developed comprehensive team documentation in Confluence/SharePoint, improving onboarding and enhancing team access to tool & process-related best practices.
• Enhanced team health efforts, tracked team budgets, and coordinated organizational documentation & discussions.
