Founding team member at Element Finance. We are a small team working to bring exciting new primitives to the DeFi space including fixed yield interest on yield bearing assets. I'm diving headfirst into this space and learning more about DeFi everyday. I'm currently working across our stack to develop our smart contract protocol in Solidity and integrating with other leading protocols including Balancer and Yearn. I'm also bringing my years web development experience to build out Element's decentralized app with React and Typescript. The paradigm shift to working with blockchain technologies has given me an entirely new way look at the future of the web and I couldn't be more excited to be involved in this rapidly evolving space.

I've been working at Calthorpe Analytics mainly as a front-end engineer. We've been building an application that's poised to revolutionize the urban planning industry and are starting to see some exciting developments. I joined the team when the product was about 3 months into development and have had an amazing time working with the team to bring our application, UrbanFootprint, to fruition.

It is a map centric application that is data intensive and has had some very interesting engineering and design challenges. We've chosen great technologies to work with including Mapbox, React, Redux, RxJS and Webpack to deliver a fast and responsive Universal Single Page Application. I am a huge proponent of the technologies that we've chosen thus far and am excited to see how we add to our stack to handle growing complexity of data that we introduce to the application.

Our data science and backend team uses and combination of Python, PostGIS, Go and other technologies to analyze large geospatial datasets as users interact with a map in real time.

Hack Reactor is a 12 week coding immersive. Students learn everything from the fundamentals of javascript to the newest and most popular frameworks including Backbone.js, AngularJS and more. The overall curriculum includes HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, D3, Backbone, Angular, Node, Express, mySQL, MongoDB among other things.

During my tenure at Hack Reactor I was involved with several interesting projects including Ripple, Headcount and Live. I specialized in Angular which I enjoy very much and hope to use in the future. I'm also very enthused about working with Backbone, React, D3 and serverside code bases.

Work Description

Most of the work I did involved FPGA programming. I worked with projects in VHDL, Verilog and System Generator. I have experimented with, though do not actively used SystemC and SystemVerilog. I used the Xilinx Tool Suite for most projects and have worked with microblaze microprocessor, used the Platform Studio to integrate systems and Chipscope to simulate, analyze and debug designs. I also currently do a lot of work with the uTCA backplace using COTS hardware. My other experience at the lab includes robotics, RF communication and microprocessor development.

History

My first internship at LANL the summer of 2010 where I had my first real introduction the VHDL. I worked on a fast FPGA-GPU architecture under Zach Baker. I returned the following summer to implement a robotics project myself and three others worked on at NMT. I started working full time at LANL January of 2012 and became a part of the RULLI team. Since then the RULLI XS project has been my primary project. I have picked up several others along the way listed below.
