Synthego's mission is to turn biology into an information science by enabling automated genome engineering at scale. As a software engineer, I collaborated with engineers and scientists across the organization to deliver systems that improved the quality, efficiency and automation of our production laboratories.
Some examples of projects I lead:
•Design and implementation of core microservices using Python and gRPC, e.g. a real-time notication service guaranteeing at least-once, in-order delivery of asynchronous events to third party APIs.
•Migrating the core Django monolith, responsible for coordinating all activity in our robotic laboratories, from our on premises data center to the cloud (AWS EC2 and RDS).
•Hardening operation of our backend services, including: automated provisioning and deployment, centralized logging, instrumentation (metrics, distributed tracing), and real-time monitoring and alerting.
