Design owner and co-creator of Amazon Lightsail, a virtual server cloud product designed for individuals and small scale projects. Worked with product manager and leadership
to conduct initial product research, ideate on product design and strategy to shape the highly successful product Lightsail would eventually become.
Post launch, collaborated with product managers to determine new feature definitions and keep design goals consistently aligned to business goals and vice versa. Reduced complex cloud service concepts from external sources into simple, easily approachable features under the Lightsail experience brand. Earned buy-in from stakeholders via collaborative design activities, wireframes, and high fidelity prototypes. Conducted surveys, user interviews, usertesting and other user UX and product research activities to determine direction and validate designs and product concepts. Developed processes for collecting and processing user feedback in a structured, accountable way. Recruited and interviewed frontend engineers and worked closely with those engineers to bring designs to life.
Created an extensible, reusable design language for Lightsail in service of our business goal of creating a “safe space” for small and independent users. Shepherded that language through design development, working with peer feedback and subject matter experts, through engineering implementation, guiding a team of 3 engineers and creating a reusable react-based component library.
