# Matt Spiel > Dezine is my pa$$ion Location: Alameda, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/mattspiel I am a passionate and vision-driven design leader with a twist of personality. I have over 15 years of experience across consumer, enterprise, data, operational, and non-profit organizations. I am a skilled communicator, facilitator, and strategist that can deploy qualitative research, quantitative data, and design methodologies to define visions and objectives that help teams understand the root problems and opportunities they face within their products and within themselves so they can deliver high quality and effective experiences. Community is a driving principle when I approach my work— in both design and leadership. Building exceptional products and cultures takes a team of people all with a shared vision and purpose, which is what I aim to bring to the teams I am a part of. For me, working within and building highly effective teams that can deliver impactful experiences, and have fun at the same time is what it’s all about. I find myself drawn to and excited about uncovering ways teams can reach their full potential. Defining and addressing these opportunities through a mix of technology, process, people dynamics, and ingenuity is something I enjoy day-in and day-out. ## Work Experience ### Principal Product Designer @ Slack Jan 2021 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area Currently leading high-impact growth and product initiatives at Slack. • Designed and launched slack.com/preview as Slack's first growth product to utilize gen AI Previously led and scaled Slack’s design system, driving adoption and efficiency across the organization. • Established metrics to determine impact on design engagement and velocity • Re-architected Slack’s colors to support broader expression and theming within the system • Successfully lead multiple large scale training migrations within the design org (60+ designers) to new systems • Embedded in feature teams to help architect systems that would allow for scale and cross feature adoption ### Director of Product Design @ TripActions Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | San Francisco Bay Area Lead the Travel Experience and Design Systems teams based in the San Francisco Bay Area. • Managing and Directing the day to day efforts of product design including project management, roadmap planning, career coaching, stakeholder management, etc. • Designed and launched Know Before You Go functionality scaling the ability to provide real time awareness of pandemic requirements and travel restrictions between destinations. • Lead the planning and delivery of our design system across web and mobile.
