Matt was promoted to Associate in October 2024 where he continued to work with clients to deliver high impact solutions in the infrastructure and AI/ML domains. He worked with the CPO of a non-profit delivering AI/ML insights with the goal of reducing veteran deaths. Outside of sprint-level AI/ML tasks, Matt and the team worked with the client to build a long term AI vision that will sustainably help them reach their goals. Matt maintained his relationship with previous clients as a trusted advisor to help them reach AI/ML maturity.

Matt specialized in delivering cloud, DevOps, and ML solutions to clients. Major accomplishments include:

➡ Implementing a network migration solution that allowed 100+ AWS accounts supporting over $10 million of operations a day to adopt on-prem connectivity via Transit Gateway Hub using Python

➡ Building CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure using GitHub Actions and EC2-backed ECS clusters for Docker, .NET Framework, and C++, enabling over 2000 projects using noncompliant DevOps practices to use centralized pipelines

➡ Architecting and developing a "golden container" service that provided a self-updating registry of 20+ security-approved base Docker images to secure the software supply chain, reducing Critical/High CVEs by 75% and covering 83% of org-wide container usage with an inner-sourcing model to take care of the rest

➡ Defining SLOs, building reusable Datadog dashboards in Terraform, and creating metric monitors for the team's services.

➡ Leveraging AWS and Azure automated machine learning tools for 2 clients: detected prescription errors for a large hospital system and classified time series data to assess IoT product feasibility

➡ Hand-building and delivering machine learning models to 2 nonprofit clients to predict and understand mental health outcomes, informing data-driven intervention strategies at the policy and clinical levels

Matt was the director of a team of 8 people tasked with building up the Forge community to help students network, learn, and grow. He planned and organized social and professional events. Forge is a professional development organization on a mission to foster innovation and provide students with the tools necessary to build their careers outside of the classroom.

Matt started and built Forge's Crash Course program from the ground up, which included recruiting guests with industry knowledge, planning events, and connecting with over 1000 students to help give them learning opportunities outside of the classroom. Crash Courses aimed to provide interesting technical workshops to the community such as 'Intro to Photoshop' and 'Distributed Systems 101'.
