The Human Rehabilitation and Neural engineering laboratory (hRNEL) specializes in combining basic neuroscience, neural engineering, and clinical translational research to develop advanced neuroprosthetic technology and novel rehabilitation strategies.

My primary role was to develop software modules to acquire, process and monitor neural stimulation data for enhancing our Brain Computer Interface (BCI) system. Additionally, I was responsible for building custom mechanical/electrical components to support our testing rig.

Conducted High Resolution (Adaptive Optics and Optical Coherence Tomography) Ophthalmological imaging and visual acuity examinations in 20 human patients. Obtained data pertaining to natural history and effects of interventions in multiple retinal degeneration studies resulting in later publication.

Built macros for image processing automation to improve workflow and data-management procedures.

Constructed and assembled parts for 3 interactive gaming environments: A 12x8 ft. motion sensor grid, two 6x4 ft. pushbutton lighting walls and a laser maze. Installed and tested the hardware and electrical components to ensure final product functionality in preparation for attraction launch.
