Worked under Yi-Kuo Yu, Ph.D., to develop a novel sequence alignment algorithm. The algorithm integrated an adjustment of substitution scores based on sequence composition into a previously defined semi-probabilistic alignment.

Worked under Arnold Rabson, M.D., studying the function of the cell cycle protein PDCD2. Designed a functional assay which identified a C terminal domain essential for PDCD2 function.

Worked in a molecular biology laboratory for three consecutive summers. Our work was focused on understanding the clock that governs the length of pregnancy to develop new treatments for preterm labor.
