To avoid confusion I should note that my given name is Seth, but everyone, friends and past co-workers, call me Max.

I graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science. Through my degree I was introduced to what is now my passion: databases and web based applications. 

I am now seeking a job as either a Web Application Developer or a Database Developer/Administrator, and though I love databases, I think I will always be partial to Web Application Development.

I plan on continuing to learn throughout my life. I think it is important for people to keep learning, and this is even more important for those like me in the computer field. There are always so many new and exciting technologies that it's difficult to keep up with all of them. I can try though. 

Since I graduated I have continued to learn and grow and have achieved certification as a Zend PHP Certified Engineer, MySQL 5.0 Certified Database, Developer, and MySQL 5.0 Certified Database Administrator. 

My plans in the future are to see the eventual addition of Sun Certified Java Programmer, Sun Certified Java Web Component Developer and Cisco Certified Network Associate.

Right now I'm focusing on the Sun Certified Java Programmer as a pre-cursor to the Sun Certified Java Web Component Developer because it seems like the number of PHP jobs has decreased since I was last job hunting.

And so I don't seem too completely boring or too into computers, I also like reading books including science fiction, fantasy, mythology and various science books. I also enjoy the company of my friends and playing role playing games (both tabletop and video games) and combined that with networking by use of Pathfinder Society.
