# Melissa Chin > Software Engineer at Wing Location: Fremont, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/melissachin Welcome! My name is Melissa Chin, and I recently graduated from University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Computer Science. I currently specialize in web development, but I am also passionate about other various topics including game development, software testing and quality assurance, and computer vision in graphics. As I finish up my last year in college, I have built up numerous skills in my palette. As a previous software engineer intern at American Express, I have worked with database software applications such as Teradata and SQL Server Management Studio and continued to hone my SQL skills. I also contributed a bit in restructuring the company's data cubes that store over millions of millions of data on customer accounts through Microsoft Visual Studio. This allowed for the generated reports to pull information from the cubes more efficiently and quickly. In addition to my internship experience, I am able to code in various programming languages such as Java, Python, and Typescript. I've also worked with many different IDEs such as Eclipse, Jupyter Notebook (both for machine learning and 3D graphics), and Pycharm. Some fun facts about me: I've done Chinese Martial Arts, also known as wushu, for almost 13 years. Because of it, I've garnered many battle scars by accidentally cutting myself with a sword - one on my left hand and one on my left elbow. I also dance and cook a lot in my free time! ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Wing Jan 2021 – Present | Palo Alto, California, United States ### Software Engineer @ Tata Consultancy Services Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 • Allocated to one of the largest regional health care service providers in the USA • Onboarded onto a special project team that focuses on core services automation and currently utilizing Selenium and other testing frameworks for automation testing ### Lab Tutor @ University of California, Irvine - Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 Lab Tutor for ICS45J: Programming in Java as a Second Language •Provided in-person tutoring for students struggling with coursework or Java concepts for 3 days a week • Assembled feedback and input from students for TAs and professors on how they could improve the course ### Software Engineer Intern @ American Express Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Pheonix, Arizona • Created a new filter called the “current period” filter onto the company’s internal marketing and performance reports.
