As the head coach of the debate club one innovation I made in our tutoring mode was to breakdown large unproductive lectures into smaller workshops on various more specific topics, focuses, and aims and interactive talks with individual teams. ### Column founder and writer; co-founder of online platform @ Campus Newspaper Jan 2013 – Jan 2015 | Tianjin Nakai High School I founded campus newspaper’s online platform, led reporters to introduce more interactive elements into the campus newspaper, connected students more with each other and with people outside the campus, and encouraged students to take the opportunities to show their ideas, proposals, passions, etc. I started a topic discussion column online to spark students’ interest, cultivate their ability to critically think and opine on various topics relating to ethics, current affairs, social issues, and campus situations, and arouse more attentions and sense of responsibilities to these issues. Discussions of each topic serialize on three consecutive issues, addressing the introduction of the topics along with a list of questions and issues, received opinions, and responses from others and comments from American Debate Club, Debate Association, MUN and teachers from various departments. I adopted the way of thinking in debate to present opinions in a conflicting pattern. I classify students’ assumptions, philosophies and logic fallacies they made. I later extended the column to the paper newspaper. ## Education ### Bachelor of Arts - BA in Computer Science University of California, Berkeley ### High School Tianjin Nankai High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/mengda-liu --- Source: https://flows.cv/mengda JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/mengda/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-29
