This project focused on design improvements for the SmithVent ventilator which aS the winning design in the CoVent-19 Challenge. The Design Clinic team worked with the head of the CoVent-19 Challenge and professional engineers from Ximedica and BMEC Technologies to integrate an oxygen sensor with an appropriate control system and a voice coil actuator system to digitally control positive end expiratory pressure. Each team member took the role of project manager for one quarter of the year.

Compiled and organized relevant research to help plan and design analysis procedures. Designed and analyzed a finite element model of the force distribution on an intervertebral disc. Designed and wrote MATLAB scripts to analyze rowing data (magnitude, acceleration, gyroscopic, and EMG) collected using position markers and motion sensors.
