I'm a software engineer with a genuine passion and appreciation for programming and system design. At Dartmouth College, I studied algorithms, OOP, machine learning, NLP and parallel programming, and completed a diverse set of software engineering internships with BloomReach, Amazon and Amazon Web Services (AWS). I currently work as a Software Development Engineer on the Performance Platform team at Amazon Robotics.

Among other areas, I have a strong interest in natural language processing (NLP) – a field in which my CS and linguistics background provides me a unique perspective. Recently, my enthusiasm for distributed systems has expanded and matured while working on them full-time. 

As an engineer, I emphasize the importance of robust, extensible architecture, component modularity, code quality and review, and consistent team communication in building successful software systems. Moreover, my modus operandi is to tackle complex problems analytically, algorithmically, collaboratively and rigorously. I strive to apply these principles and strategies to drive innovative software development in my organization.

Redshift is a fully managed, petabyte-scale cloud data warehouse service based on a massively parallel architecture.

• Implemented capability for users to load AES-encrypted S3 data into Redshift databases using SQL COPY command. Ensured extensibility to other cipher types and modes of operation. Solved critical user need, resulting in positive feedback from users.

• Integrated support for multibyte UTF-8 delimiter characters in COPY command, a key feature for many international customers.

Retail Systems — Flash Sales Management and Analytics

MyHabit.com is Amazon's private flash sale site, featuring fashion items from designer brands.

• Developed full stack Flash Sale Timeline web application as part of Java/GWT-based merchandising suite for internal MyHabit users. Provided a self-service interface for tracking automated and manual changes to flash sale "events" across buyer, planning, embellishment, and pricing teams, eliminating the need to file trouble tickets for event details.

### Product and Engagement Management Intern @ BloomReach

BloomReach is a big data marketing applications company, capturing online demand by exposing retailers' most relevant content to consumers.

• Overhauled and standardized customer monthly report process by automating report generation with Python, SQL and VBA. Implemented program that constructs trend reports for 138 merchants in ~5 minutes, saving 150+ hours/month.

• Facilitated communication between PM and engineering teams regarding bug fixes and merchant-specific requests.
