# Michael Morgan > Mechanical Engineering Student from Rowan University, Seeking Full Time Positions in Design Engineering Location: Hackettstown, New Jersey, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/michaelmorgan1 I have always been interested in creating; whether that be developing new ideas, improving existing products, or just tinkering to experiment with the designs I create. I love to be creative and make physical renditions of what I create, so I knew I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer. During my time at Rowan University, I have had many opportunities to develop my skills and become the engineer I am today. Many of my classes have given me the tools that I have improved over the 4 years I have been here. For example, I usually opt to work on 3D Modelling in my group projects, which have given me a lot of experience in Solidworks and other similar CAD programs. I also learned how basic coding in Java, Python for Machine Learning and Data Analysis, and C++ for Arduino coding. Overall, I have grown my problem-solving skills, as well as my attention to detail when it comes to the work I have done at Rowan. However, not all of the skills I have acquired were from my classes. Two major positions that helped me develop myself were being the President of the Rowan 3D Printing Club and a Product Engineer at Weatherpod. Additive Manufacturing in general has been a personal fascination even before Rowan, and this opportunity allowed me to fuel my passion to create my vision for this role. Being club president has been a major nexus for me to work on my communication and leadership skills, as those were needed to roll out the many changes and improvements I made with my team for the club. We developed many events for the club members, which took a lot of hard work and dedication to make sure the events we made were the best they could be. At Weatherpod, I designed new products, as well as new additions and updates to existing products at the company. All of these designs were first made into 3D Models in Solidworks and then into patent drawings for later use in manufacturing. ## Work Experience ### General Engineer @ U.S. Army DEVCOM Jan 2024 – Present | Picatinny Arsenal, NJ Evaluated 3D printing hardware for additive manufacturing of energetics to improve performance. Performed detailed analysis of Anycubic Digital Light Processing (DLP) 3D Printer using optical microscopy, culminating in a technical report with actionable technical insights to optimize print accuracy and configuration. Designed and implemented comprehensive procedures and risk assessments for Filament Extrusion, Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), and Stereolithography (SLA) machines, ensuring safe operation and compliance when handling energetic materials. Collaborating with academic institutions and industry partners to design and develop innovative advanced manufacturing technologies.
