After obtaining a bachelor's degree in computer science from Penn State in 2006, I entered the software industry as a developer and have enjoyed working in this role ever since. As a lifelong lover of puzzles of all sorts (from jigsaws to crosswords to logic problems), I love the challenges and open ended problem solving that designing and coding software presents. 

In addition to my professional work experience, I have enjoyed working on a long term personal hobby project for several years, building a 2D game engine with a counterpart world editor. Originally having started the project in college as a simple standalone game, it has grown and evolved over the years as I am always coming up with of new enhancements to include. From its simple beginnings as a retro arcade style game written entirely in C++, it has now evolved into a fully featured game engine with a C++ core, Python scripting to control higher level game entities, and a world editor to create external assets.

### Senior Software Engineer @ ID Networks

As a software engineer at ID Networks, I worked on applications for the public safety & law enforcement sector. I was responsible for the design, documentation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of public safety client-server applications and relational databases, primarily utilizing C# and SQL, along with some Visual Basic for legacy applications.

I was the primary author of the Electronic Traffic Crash Reporting application for the state of Ohio, allowing for data entry, validation, and electronic record submission to the Ohio Department of Public Safety. In addition to this, I made contributions to the 911 Computer Aided Dispatch application by writing modules to interface with third party emergency response APIs. I also contributed to several other applications in the Records Management suite, including Traffic Citations, Incident Reporting, and Statistics.
