The Graduate Data Science Organization (GDSO) at UC Berkeley holds a 3-week data science workshop for graduate students each summer. I worked with another graduate student, a postdoctoral fellow, and a data scientist to predict how much money visitors to the Google Store website would spend, given information about their previous interactions with the website. We used a logistic model to predict whether visitors would purchase something and a random forest to predict how much they would spend, given that they made a purchase. Our final model combined the outputs from these two models and ranked in the top 3% out of 1000+ teams. https://gdso.berkeley.edu/projects_2019.html
