# Mike Maliszewski > Senior Software Engineer at Apple Location: New York, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/mikemaliszewski With 5 iOS apps published to the App Store that have reached thousands of users, I have come to love the process of building products that help solve real world problems. I first began developing software when I was building a light switch that could be controlled with a tv remote using an Arduino in my freshman year of college. Since then, my projects have expanded into many domains including embedded devices, web and backend development, and most recently developing for iOS. I enjoy working with each part of the stack and am always looking for new concepts and projects to learn about. Some skills that I've picked up and applied to my projects: Languages: Swift, Objective-C, TypeScript / JavaScript, Python Technologies: UIKit, Node.js, Express, Firebase, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Git Foundation: OOP Principles, MVC, unit testing, algorithms and data structures ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Apple Jan 2025 – Present | New York, New York, United States ### Software Engineer @ Apple Jan 2022 – Jan 2025 | New York, New York, United States StoreKit Frameworks ### Software Engineer II @ Fetch Rewards Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Chicago, Illinois, United States ### Software Engineer @ Fetch Rewards Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Chicago, Illinois, United States ### iOS Software Engineer @ Fetch Rewards Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Chicago, Illinois, United States ### iOS Engineer Apprentice @ Fetch Rewards Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Chicago, Illinois, United States ### Co-founder / Software Engineer @ Squirrel Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Chicago, Illinois, United States - Built two iOS apps using Swift that helped homeowners hire home service providers - Implemented state dependent navigation for 15 screens using MVC and delegate patterns - Created real-time quote selection interface using custom table view cells and Firebase - Increased reliability of user-facing payment components by writing unit tests using XCTest - Reduced App Store deployment time by 33% by automating with fastlane - Incorporated push notifications and user payments on back-end using Firebase Functions ### Electrical Engineering Intern @ Molex Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater Chicago Area - Developed a data transfer speed test application in Python for automating USB testing - Collaborated with engineers to perform hardware validation testing of pre-market products - Wrote detailed documentation for each software and hardware project I contributed to ### Undergraduate Research Assistant @ University of Illinois at Chicago Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | Greater Chicago Area - Researched MOSFET switching characteristics in the Power Electronics domain, advised by Dr. Sudip Mazumder - The goal was to realize any efficiency benefits of modulating the gate resistance of a Power MOSFET within a nanosecond time scale - Designed a 50W GaN boost converter circuit with our research integrated into the schematic, using Altium Designer - Used LTspice and Saber Synopsys simulation software to verify the concept and get a general idea for the circuit - Designed various schematic components and footprints according to the manufacturers datasheet - Laid out the schematic as a 4 layer circuit board, with guidance from PhD students on best practices for power electronics board design ### Electrical Engineering Intern @ Matrix Design, LLC Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | United States - Designed electrical control panel schematics for industrial automation systems that met specific requirements from the customer - Used AutoCAD Electrical to design the schematics, while following JIC and NFPA standards - Designed systems that utilized components such as cell door locks, various relays, and sensors that were controlled by PLCs - Participated in various project meetings with discussions on components, goals and deadlines ### Panel Shop Intern @ Matrix Design, LLC Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | United States - Built and wired control panels for industrial automation systems - Learned to follow and understand JIC formatted electrical schematics and symbols - Documented various build processes to maintain consistency among panels in large projects ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering University of Illinois Chicago ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/mike-maliszewski --- Source: https://flows.cv/mikemaliszewski JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/mikemaliszewski/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-30
