# Miriam Connor > Engineering Leader | Advisor @ Kismet Health | formerly-ex-Google | ex-Humu Location: Mountain View, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/miriamconnor I'm a people-forward engineering leader and manager who gets hands on. My mission is to organize my team to get the right things done and get them done right. Here are a few of the things I’m good at: Management: I put people first -- both my team and my users. I manage with empathy and give my reports the right amount of structure and freedom to push them forward in their careers. Collaboration: My cross-functional teammates tell me I'm a great partner. I have a proven track record of working with product, data science, and domain experts, and I'm a great "translator" between engineering and cross-functional stakeholders. Technical expertise: My academic background is in natural language processing and linguistics, and I spent ~6 years at Google developing and integrating NLP models into Search and Assistant products. Since then, I’ve kept up with the AI space while expanding my skills across the stack. I’m a highly technical manager, and I love to be hands on. I quickly understand complex systems in depth, even ones in new domains. I’ve regularly contributed code in all my roles, including as a manager of managers. ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ Google DeepMind Jan 2025 – Present ### AI Advisor @ Kismet Health Inc Jan 2024 – Present Providing guidance on AI direction and consulting on proof-of-concept AI applications in the current product. ### Head of Engineering @ Kismet Health Inc Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 Head of Engineering & Founding Member @ www.kismethealth.com - Led and worked hands-on in 0 to 1 development of the Kismet video telehealth product. - Managed internal team of 3 engineers + 1 designer; successfully onboarded dev shop. - Drove definition and scope of the product vision and roadmap for the company. - Established processes for agile development, QA, and product roadmapping. - Guided first-time non-technical founders product and strategy decisions and communicated technical and product process with investors. ### Director of Engineering @ Humu Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 Overall manager/lead for Humu engineering: 22 engineers across 3 teams.
