Our challenge: how can we help average joes become excellent trip organizers by helping them to easily create and manage their trips As the Information Architecture Team Lead, I planned, structured, and conducted card sorting studies to better understand the mental model of trip organizers. The synthesized data from this study is currently being used as the base for the redesign of the 'trip creation' system and the overall flow of the platform. ### Product Designer - Wireframes & Prototyping Lead @ Outcomes.com Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 Improving Outcomes is a platform that helps doctors and surgeons monitor patients outcome after treatments/procedures. Our challenge: how can we find what is important to surgeons by conducting user research and create design suggestions that helps surface actionable data that is most helpful to surgeons. As a Wireframing and Prototyping Team Co-Lead, I planned, structured, and facilitated Google Ventures' Design Sprint. We decided to run a design sprint to create a collaborative atmosphere amongst both the stakeholders and the team members. By the end of the design sprint, we were able to converge all of our ideas into one cohesive wireframe sketch that we will move forward with. We are currently iterating on this wireframe while testing them with doctors in between each iterations. This wireframe serves as the base for our high fidelity clickable prototypes that will be tested by actual surgeons and doctors. ### Lead Product Designer @ Changeria Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 Changeria is an educational online platform that helps people learn the ropes of becoming an entrepreneur and starting their own business. Our challenge: build a gamified educational web platform that incorporates behavioral design to ultimately create an engaging and interactive learning environment. As the Lead Product Designer of this project, I planned and organized client meetings as well as ensuring that team members have no barriers to move forward with their tasks. So far we have developed the design from paper prototypes, all the way into clickable prototypes that we utilized for usability and comprehension studies. We are currently iterating on this clickable prototype and taking it into high fidelity prototype. ### Product Designer @ Tradecraft Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 Tradecraft is a highly selective career accelerator program working to develop Product Designers, Engineers, Growth Hackers, and Sales & BD roles for the tech industry by working alongside industry leading mentors and founders. During my apprenticeship in this program, I took on various roles of a Product Designer, ranging from being a Lead Product Designer of a client project, to a Team Lead, to an individual contributor. These roles have allowed me to immerse myself in all the critical skills required to be a great Product Designer. Not only have I conducted user research as a method to discover customer development, I have also run and structured Google Ventures' Design Sprint, conducted usability studies, and restructured the information architecture of some products. Client list: Changeria, Captivate Real Estate, Improving Outcomes, WeTravel ### Product Designer - Customer Development User Researcher @ Captivate Real Estate Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 Captivate Real Estate helps agents close more buyers and sellers by providing additional values to their clients through various different tools (3D models, high quality images, etc). Our challenge: how can we help Captivate Real Estate offer even more values to agents. We conducted user interviews of all three user categories (buyers, sellers, agents) to understand their pain points. We synthesized this data as infographics to represent our findings and we presented a comprehensive report that detailed opportunities suggestions derived these pain points that our client can address in order to help not only the agents, but also the buyers and sellers. ### Associate Designer @ KTGY Group, Inc. Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | Oakland, CA KTGY is a nation-wide residential Architectural and Planning firm. As an Associate Designer, I was responsible for: - The creation of Design Development and Construction Document set utilizing both Revit and AutoCAD; task included but not limited to: setting up new project using Project Navigator and XREF Manager in CAD and project template in Revit, creating new parametric families, drawing and editing architectural details, keynoting and scheduling, and determining roof attic and exit access calculations - 3D modelling projects in Revit and SketchUp - Selecting paint color and material for projects, as well as creating and sourcing samples for physical city required color and material board - The coordination with clients and consultants: ensured that working deadlines can be reach by all and communicated architectural changes - Ensuring hat project design is aligned with the ADA, city/state building requirement, the IBC, and CBC code - The res to RFIs (request for information) and recorded narrative for drawing changes - The production of colored elevation and colored diagrammatic oor plans for marketing brochures; selected to produce large elevation rendering to be printed on a billboard ### Marketing Coordinator @ Newnex Technology Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 | Santa Clara, California Newnex is a hardware technology company focuses in USB 3.0 technology. As the Marketing Coordinator, I was responsible for: - The user experience research of Newnex' current website and develop a new design idea for it. - Implementing Google Analytics code on each webpages and in charge of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) by updating the use of keyword bid ads on Google AdWords and increasing keywords in the html codes. - All printable assets of the company, such as: print ads that will be published globally in the Vision System Design magazine, product Data Sheets, and product manuals. - The management and organization of the entire Marketing Department by creating and coordinating the Department’s timeline, budget, work plan and goal - Training and coordinating the work of two Marketing interns - The design and launch of Newnex’ new website utilizing css3 animation and user side php scripting - The plan, design, and distribution of Newnex’ customer appreciation gift, a reusable, foldable, and portable shopping bag The results: newnex.com is now in the top searches for some of our major keywords and its website popularity has increased according to the Alexa Ranking, rising from rank over 5 million into the 2-300,000 range ### Product Designer @ Pristine Solutions Inc. (now Tine Tags) Jan 2013 – Jan 2013 | Berkeley, CA Developed the initial design of the product (smart NFC label), responsible for the NFC logo and tag, as well as the company's design guidelines; branched into marketing and started a kickstarter campaign strategy including the storyboard for the video. ### Web Design Intern @ The Offices of The Dean of Students UC Berkeley Jan 2012 – Jan 2013 | Sproul Hall, UC Berkeley responsible for conducting research on information web-building. This research includes furthering our understanding of the process by which videos are embedded onto a website, and building presentation skills using Prezi software. I am also responsible for moving web content from outdated school website to an updated and newer version. Future work will include the design of marketing props for the new campus LEAD center for student engagement. ### Media, Graphic, and Web-Designer @ Office of ASUC Senate, Nolan Pack Jan 2013 – Jan 2013 | Berkeley responsible for the feature images embedded in the candidate's website; built Nolan's campaign website using wordpress. ### Intern Architect @ Kevin Stephens Design Group Jan 2012 – Jan 2012 Currently working on an investment portfolio including the redesigning of an apartment completely from the ground up (plan of each floor, including the units of each habitable spaces, section, exterior facade). Ultimate goal: green apartment buildings. ### Graphic Design Intern @ BALANCE Edutainment Jan 2012 – Jan 2012 | Oakland, California responsible for the redesigning of Pacha’s new CD cover, album description, and the rearrangement of their children’s book entitled “Pacha Pajamas”. I also worked on the company marketing tools, including promotional flyers, facebook cover photo with a matching profile picture, and website heading. ### Web and Media Designer @ UC Berkeley Center for Southeast Asia Jan 2010 – Jan 2012 | 2223 Fulton Avenue, Berkeley, CA researched and studied a couple different email marketing software; software includes Constant Contact, iContact, and Vertical Response, set up and designed a template for biweekly newsletter, modify template every week in timely manner to meet deadline, and also organized contact lists. Also worked on their new website using Drupal. ### Student Designer Volunteer @ Excelsior Action Group Jan 2011 – Jan 2012 | Excelsior, San Francisco Redesigned the facade of a run down bakery to increase sales and to attract new customers.
