I've also worked on a B2C engineering team focusing on hotels merchandising UI and UX. My responsibilities here include working with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features for Tripadvisor users and hotel business owners. I work along our entire technology stack as required by each project. Some of my projects here have included: - Integrated 3rd party APIs from Google and Facebook as part of a B2B SAAS product for hoteliers. - Implemented a new responsive web design of the header for Hotel List pages using React web components, which was a fairly new technology to Tripadvisor at the time). Despite being a major structural change to the web page, this rolled out after the first iteration with no bugs or issues. - Re-wrote old code to use new technologies (Microservices, React) according to internal guidelines to reduce friction in the development process. - Coordinated with interdisciplinary teams around the world for projects like the pay-in-installments offer merchandising, video advertisements, adding sponsored placements in cross-sells. - Organized and led a weekly "bug hunt" to reduce the number of live-site issues. I also ran test subjects and helped to organize data. ### Java Developer @ Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Jan 2014 – Jan 2016 | Troy, New York, United States This paid research position came from my previous involvement in the LEGUP project from created and managed by Prof. Bram van Heuveln in the Cognitive Science department of RPI. LEGUP is an open-source software application that teaches students concepts in formal logic through the use of grid-based puzzles such as Sudoku or Nurikabe. My projects included maintaining and expanding coverage for a suite of Selenium tests, general bug fixes, and converting Apache Velocity templates to Dust. These projects required me to communicate with engineers and product managers across the company, understand and make use of a large code base, and move quickly to get things done in an agile development environment. ### Summer Intern @ Optum Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 Part of the technology development summer intern program for the summer of 2016.
