# Mrigank Doshy > Software Engineer II @ KCF Technologies Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/mrigank I'm currently a Software Engineer at KCF Technologies where I help build enterprise software that delivers sustainable and comprehensive machine health solutions. I have a knack for front-end design and love building digital experiences and new products. In the past, I co-founded and developed Mule, an iOS and Android app that enables peer-to-peer delivery in college towns while helping students have complete autonomy over their schedules (100+ users). I've also co-founded Blockchain@PSU, a student-run organization that trains students and instills upon them the skills essential to understanding FinTech, and grew the organization to over 300 members. In early 2021, I worked with the Volvo Group to develop an automated algorithm that suggests a network path for cables and fuel lines based on space boundaries available in a truck. I also worked towards an automated system that converts 2D schematics to 3D CAD models. In the summer of 2019, I was a Computational Finance Research Intern where my primary focus was to compute the prices using different pricing methods and optimize them using High-Performance Computing (HPC) techniques. When not working with technology, I play musical instruments, geek out on physics, games on the PS4, and binge-watch movies/shows :) I love meeting new people, feel free to reach out! https://www.mrigankdoshy.com/ ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer II @ KCF Technologies, Inc. Jan 2022 – Present | State College, Pennsylvania, United States Mobile Engineering (Lead Engineer) • Lead the development of KCF’s cross-platform mobile app that delivers real-time machine health insights, supports asset management, and guides plant-floor teams through issue resolution, hardware installation, and troubleshooting. • Implemented a local-first, sync engine backed mobile architecture with custom sync strategy, conflict handling, optimized local queries, and schema design - enabling technicians to complete full installation, commissioning, and diagnostics workflows even in zero-connectivity plant environments. • Transformed the hardware installation process from a manual, error-prone set of Excel workflows into a guided, validated in-app flow - reducing installation time, repeat site visits, and improving install success rate • Expanded the mobile app’s diagnostic capabilities by integrating native modules for thermal imaging (FLIR) and motion amplification, giving field teams deeper insights into machine issues and reducing time-to-diagnosis and troubleshooting effort • Improved mobile performance through targeted data-layer and UI optimizations, resulting in faster load times, fewer stalls, and a more reliable cross-platform experience • Established consistent engineering standards across the codebase, improving maintainability, reducing regressions, and allowing the team to ship features more predictably with a release discipline and a stable CI/CD pipeline Web Platform Engineering • Build and maintain key features for KCF’s comprehensive machine health web platform, focusing on clarity and reliability for high-volume machine health data • Developed the platform’s issue and task management system, which standardized how faults are created, classified, escalated, and resolved - saving analysts 10,000+ hours/year and becoming a core pillar of the platform's workflow • Contributed to a unified design system and shared component library, improving UI consistency and reducing development overhead across teams ### Software Engineer @ KCF Technologies, Inc. Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | State College, Pennsylvania, United States • Develop and maintain mission-critical features of SMARTdiagnostics, an AI-powered machine health platform that delivers real-time, predictive insights and reduces unplanned equipment downtime for industrial customers. • Own front-end development for several large-scale features including an Edge Compute Container Management experience, enabling orchestration and deployment workflows for containerized diagnostic workloads across distributed hardware • Implement and optimize backend services and RESTful APIs with Entity Framework and Dapper, powering efficient retrieval, update, and export of high-volume asset and sensor data (supporting billions of datapoints per month) • Co-build and evolve a shared design system and component library used across SMARTdiagnostics and other web applications, improving UI coherence and accelerating feature delivery ### Co-Founder and Software Engineer @ Mule Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | State College, Pennsylvania, United States Mule is an intelligent delivery system that enables students to be one another's deliverers • Developed an iOS and Android app using Flutter that allows peer-to-peer delivery by helping students effectively manage their time • Researched, designed and developed the UI/UX with MobX state-management library, Node.js for backend and real-time database using MongoDB • Implemented geolocation and routing with a cluster map of places and user locations using Google Maps Web Services and a notifications system using Firebase Messaging • Implemented registration and authentication using http client package Dio and applied dependency injection in the client to request for and match with other users • Worked with Happy Valley LaunchBox to validate customers’ needs/pain, identify key customer characteristics, evaluate current solutions and identify the tangible results • Actively pitching investors and venture capitalists for pre seed funding, conducting market research and analyzing data that is used to make critical decisions and tweaks in the product Launched April 20, 2021 75+ users as of May 1, 2021 ### Software Engineer - Capstone Project @ Volvo Trucks Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Remote • Explored an automated link using Creopyson Python library, to convert 2D schematics to 3D CAD Models in CREO: Parametric, eliminating the need to manually rebuild a 3D model for any change in the 2D schematic • Designed and developed an algorithm that suggests a network path for cables and fuel lines based on space boundary available and different environmental conditions • Helped engineers reroute cables so that the wires take the most efficient paths, hence reducing the repetitive and time consuming process currently employed (The project is now being implemented in the Volvo System by an internal team) ### Learning Assistant @ Penn State University Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 | University Park, Pennsylvania, United States CMPSC 131: Programming and Computation I - Fundamentals CMPSC 221: Object Oriented Programming with Web Based Applications • Facilitate weekly recitation sessions for the course • Hold additional office hours giving an opportunity to understand topics deeply • Grade projects and assignments of students in my recitation sections • Help students understand concepts and solve any problems or questions pertaining to the course ### Co-Founder @ Blockchain@PSU Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 | University Park, Pennsylvania, United States Vice President: August 2018 - August 2019 President: August 2019 - August 2020 Student Advisor: August 2020 - May 2021 • Co-founded Blockchain@PSU, a student-run organization that trains students and instills upon them the skills essential to understanding FinTech, and grew the organization to over 300 members • Responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of the organization's technological projects, administration, and recruitment initiatives • Execution of long-term strategy for growth of educated personnel and advocates • Built relations with Microsoft, IBM, BlockVenture Coalition, Immuto, Dunya Labs, NEO, and other universities to further develop the rarer community of Blockchain at Penn State ### Computational Finance Research Intern @ Penn State Eberly College of Science Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | University Park, Pennsylvania, United States Applying mathematical methods to the solution of problems in finance by involving financial theory, methods of engineering, tools of mathematics and the practice of programming • Developed an object oriented approach to compute the prices of American and European Call and Put options using different pricing methods such as Monte Carlo, the analytical Black-Scholes-Merton formula and the Binomial Tree method • Using gnuplot, graphed the quantities such as Price, Delta, Gamma and Vega • Learnt High Performance Computing (HPC) Techniques and applied Parallel Computing to the Monte Carlo Simulation using OpenMP and MPI • By creating a MPI Cluster, ran the MPI Programs on a network of machines to use multiple cores ## Education ### Bachelor of Science -
