# Mudra Nagda > Design at Kognitos Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/mudra My strength lies in my ability to align design with business goals, scale a product from 0-to-1, introduce a design-first approach in a technical environment, and advocate for responsible AI (or at least keep conversing about it). I led design at two early-stage AI startups: EVE, where we’re automating meeting scheduling, and Evercred, where we’re building a first-of-its-kind credential wallet for medical professionals. Product strategy and product thinking are some key skills I am currently picking up. I also advise Aboda Design, a company solving the affordable housing shortage problem in Colorado; and Constalytic AI, a company that is bringing AI innovation to the construction management world. My past work at Google, Kinesys, Vunet and Medtronic spans across AI automation, SaaS, healthcare, and advertising. At Kinesys AI, I designed an AI-powered mortgage platform, increasing customer acquisition by 300% in three months. At Google, I developed new UI components for Campaign Manager 360’s mobile app, enhancing navigation and usability. At Vunet Systems, I introduced a user-centered design culture, led the redesign of their flagship AI operations platform, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to create Explainable AI dashboards that emphasized transparency. At Georgia Tech, I spent a year researching wearable technologies and their social perception. These two years of my career made me a research first designer, and I learned how much joy there is in making design decisions that are firmly rooted in research. I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Thad Starner, conducted user studies and published a paper on the this topic. For my Master's thesis, I conducted participatory design workshops to understand awareness about privacy in mixed reality worlds. This resulted in a privacy by-design-inspired game based on a custom designed deck of cards. Even though I have a formal education in HCI & UX, I consider myself a self-taught designer. I was introduced to the world of UX during the second semester of my undergrad in CS at the University of Mumbai - and haven't looked back ever since. I have often been the only designer in a team of engineers, shapeshifting between a Figma wizard and a translator. I am optimistic about the positive role that design will play in bringing responsible AI to help people solve real problems. In my free time, I like mentoring junior designers, deciphering Swift-lore and cooking for my friends. ## Work Experience ### Product Designer @ Kognitos Jan 2025 – Present | Mountain View, California, United States ### Founding Product Designer @ EVE Jan 2024 – Jan 2025 | Palo Alto, CA I lead product design at EVE, an AI-powered meeting scheduling platform that addresses a critical gap in the industry by optimizing scheduling efficiency and reducing meeting overload. I collaborate closely with engineering and visual design teams, driving product strategy while building a custom design system on top of Shadcn to ensure scalability and consistency. Key Contributions: - Viral Onboarding Flow: Designed and prototyped a seamless, multi-step onboarding flow that educates users on AI functionality while driving adoption and boosting retention rates. - Human-in-the-Loop UX: Created intuitive workflows to enable human oversight and intervention, ensuring AI-generated suggestions align with user preferences. - Agent, Chat, and Memory UX: Developed conversational agent UX, chat UX, and memory updation flows that enhance user trust and control over AI interactions. - AI Transparency and Feedback Loops: Designed feedback mechanisms to refine the model continually and developed transparent onboarding flows that educate users about how their data powers personalized insights. - Meeting Insights & Analytics: Designed actionable insights that provide users with data-driven visibility into their meeting habits, helping them reclaim valuable time. - Bulk Action Feature Definition: Defined and designed the product scope for a bulk action feature, enabling users to manage multiple scheduling actions efficiently. - Threaded Chat Experiences: Designed engaging and organized thread-based chat experiences that streamline conversations and task management. My work bridges design and engineering, leveraging my background in Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Science to deliver intuitive, AI-driven solutions that empower users and drive business outcomes. EVE is funded by Andrew Ng’s AI Fund ### Founding Product Designer @ EVE Jan 2024 – Jan 2024 | Palo Alto, CA Worked closely with CTO, Engineering Lead and Development Team to design and build. We started building 'Purf AI' an AI powered task management tool that extracts, labels and automates tasks by reading your email, calendar and other applications. - My role included complete ownership of design - from wireframing to final prototypes - as well as taking up some PM functions such as wireframing and synthesizing user testing feedback. I built a custom design system on top of Mantine UI - designing onboarding screens, application integration flow, viewing tasks and most importantly the user flow for task automation. I also keenly focused on designing edge cases when AI is erroneous and going through multiple iterations of the UI and interactions on our AI interface. - The main design challenge was simplifying the ambiguity and complexity of information provided by our model, and designing human-AI interventions. ### User Experience Designer Volunteer @ MakerGhat Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | San Francisco Bay Area ### Product Designer @ Cortex Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | Palo Alto, California, United States As the sole designer, I designed our entire AI product called Cortex, from scratch. Building products 0 to 1, strong product definition, user understanding and market fit analysis makes the initial ambiguity very exciting. I started with a blank Figma file in November 2023, and now have an entire design system custom-built for our product with a keen focus on scalability, agility and simplicity. Also designed landing pages, investor-facing materials and a bunch of slide decks that taught me a lot about the craft of storytelling. • Designed and shipped complete AI product in 3 months using a design system made from scratch, collaborated with product & engineering to create product definition, wireframes and clickable prototype for user evaluation • Shipped design achieved a 300% increase in customer acquisition. I conducted a design sprint to brainstorm solutions with Product and Business team members, to simplify complex workflows and reduce the number of clicks • I also created branding guidelines, a landing page and all investor-facing materials. I am passionate about data transparency and often advocated for greater transparency in communicating our AI decisions using design components and UX copy ### User Experience Designer @ Google Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | New York City Metropolitan Area • Designed a companion mobile app to provide on-the-go access to Google Campaign Manager, a product that helps advertisers manage $50B of digital campaigns. • Communicated with cross-functional stakeholders to formulate critical workflows of the product; designed user journeys and user flows for corresponding mobile use cases • Designed and prototyped new custom reusable UI components to address use cases not covered by the Google Material Design specifications • Initiated, organised and successfully executed an intern event called 'UX Design 101', connecting the current NYC intern cohort with UX Designers across Google ### User Experience Designer @ Georgia Institute of Technology Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Atlanta, Georgia, United States I served as a UX Designer for the Wellness Tech Lab headed by Dr. Andrea Parker • Designed cross-platform mobile app to support postpartum mental health for Black mothers • Researched & conceptualized Mental Health, Weight & Sleep modules in app from wireframes to final prototype design • Sole creator of design system which included component library, assets, variants & click-through prototype ### Product Designer @ VuNet Systems Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Mumbai, Maharashtra, India During my time as a product designer at Vunet (AI Operations startup of < 100 people), I was one of the first designers to be onboarded. I steered the technically complex and engg first company towards a design first + user centred approach, by educating the team on the importance of design, collaborating with several teams from ML to sales and closely working with our proxy users to create a UX process for the company. I wore many hats - led the mobile design team, led an external UX engagement and also developed the CEO's vision for 'Explainable AI' Dashboards. The company adopted my redesign of the product, design guides and most importantly embraced the process of user research. I am really proud of not just the designs I created during this time, but also the processes I could establish. • Designed ‘Explainable AI’ business insights and AI management dashboard, focussed on transparency and explainability of AI decisions; collaborated with ML team & CXOs • Designed companion mobile app for the data visualisation based dashboard B2B SaaS product; created wireframes, design system, and click-through prototypes • Led a 2-month engagement with an external design studio.
