The project was proposed by a rising junior from Pakistan at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The project was funded and selected by the Davis Projects for Peace. Waseela has since then partnered with several other youth-led organizations including Next Generation Pakistan, Aghaaz, and SOS Children's Villages.
