• Analysed and highlighted single point failures on battery management system (BMS) PCBs for
floorcare product by studying BMS schematics and utilizing skills with lab equipment
• Implemented novel hardware solution for detecting MOSFET overheating issue on BMS board
without changing board layout and mechanical design by replacing resistor with PTC thermistor in a
voltage divider circuit so output voltage decrease coincides with temperature rise
• Set up rigs and performed tests on 7-cell battery packs with FLIR thermal cameras, K-type thermocouples, 1500W DC power supplies, and oscilloscopes to collect data for temperature and discharge/charge time
