# Nathaniel Mar > Founding Engineer at Arize AI Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/nathanielmar Software engineer and technical leader with 16+ years at Silicon Valley startups, from early stage through scale-up. For the past 8 years, I've focused on building end-to-end AI/ML systems and infrastructure. I do my best work in small, nimble teams tackling greenfield projects and new strategic bets. Beyond the technical work, I genuinely enjoy building teams and being part of shaping and sustaining the culture around them. Unofficial titles I've picked up over the years include "the glue," "intern whisperer," and "world builder." Right now I'm in a hybrid IC/Tech Lead Manager role, building features and growing teams that develop AI tools for troubleshooting, evaluating, and improving AI applications. My background includes scalable high-performance systems, NoSQL databases, data processing, and full-stack web development. Always happy to connect, whether to swap ideas, explore collaboration, or just talk shop! ## Work Experience ### Founding Engineer @ Arize AI Jan 2020 – Present | Berkeley, California, United States ### Software Engineer @ PagerDuty Jan 2015 – Jan 2020 | San Francisco, CA Joined at Series B; went public in 2019 I worked on the Machine Learning Platform team, providing infrastructure, tooling and support to data scientists and engineers for rapidly experimenting with and deploying data and ML-driven products.
