# Na Young Son > UI/UX & Immersive Experience Designer | CS + Music @ Stanford Location: Stanford, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/nayoungson I’m a graduate student at Stanford University pursuing an M.S. in Computer Science with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), after completing my undergraduate studies in Computer Science. My academic journey bridges the technical and artistic realms, grounded in a passion for immersive experiences, audio innovation, and human-centered design. Currently, I work at Stanford’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab (VHIL), where I’m leading a spatial audio research project that explores the impact of mixed reality environments on perception and presence. This work integrates multichannel sound design, ambisonics, and VR development to simulate interactive acoustic spaces. Previously, I served as a Field Operator at KOTRA, representing emerging Korean startups in the audio and consumer tech sectors at CES. I’ve also contributed to an immersive AR project focused on spatial audio rendering and signal processing for interactive installations. These roles have deepened my understanding of how sound technologies shape digital experiences across media. Fluent in English and Korean, I thrive in multilingual, multidisciplinary teams. I aim to continue pushing the boundaries of XR, audio, and interactive design through research, prototyping, and thoughtful collaboration. ## Work Experience ### Research Assistant @ Virtual Human Interaction Lab Jan 2025 – Present | Stanford, California, United States Leading a spatial audio research project that explores the impact of mixed reality environments on perception and presence.
