I’m a learner, I’m passionate about picking up and experimenting with new skills. I would even go as far as saying that learning is my biggest skill, I pride myself on being able to grasp seemingly complicated concepts quickly and apply them around me, fortunately this means I’m able to onboard quickly and start making valuable contributions almost immediately. This love of learning, and an interest towards harnessing technology has made me who I am today, an aspiring Software Engineer.

Outside of my studies in the University of Waterloo’s Software Engineering program, I’m always looking to learn new skills, something I do through personal projects and hackathons.

Skillset wise, I consider myself to be a budding jack of all trades. I have experience with a variety of languages including C++, Kotlin, Java, Swift, Ruby, Python and Typescript. My internship experience and personal projects have also given me insight into best practices, design patterns and system scaleability.

● Designed and carried out development of an in-house autoscaling system on AWS ECS Fargate, driving SLA compliance to 99.8% and reducing total AWS costs by $740k/year (2x reduction).
● Configured and Terraformed AWS RDS proxy, driving connection pool exhaustion issues to zero.

● Leveraged JProfiler to optimize IPYNB export in Scala, resulting in 116x speedup and 109x memory reduction.

● Prototyped, implemented and shipped a fully backwards compatible expansion to the in-game goal system.
