Hey there, I’m Nithya. 

I’m a product designer in the Bay Area, California. 
I’ve always enjoyed creating fun and memorable experiences and making things visually appealing, even before I discovered UX Design. Whether in real-life situations such as organizing family get-togethers or in my professional experience as a software tester where I developed test cases to ensure that software met the requirements, my approach has always been driven by empathy and understanding user needs. This passion inspired me to pursue a career in UX Design.

### UX/UI Design Intern @ ZenZen Pregnancy Guide
Jan 2025 – Present
● Redesigning the meal planner to support individuals managing gestational diabetes.
● Conducting user surveys and research to understand the challenges of meal planning with gestational diabetes and incorporating these insights into the design. 
● Collaborating with developers to evaluate the technical feasibility of the design.
● Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the meal planner aligns with user needs, promoting better health management.

### Product Designer @ Fair Housing Advocates of Northern California (formerly Fair Housing of Marin)
Jan 2025 – Present
●	Led a full website redesign that made FHANC’s services clearer and more accessible for users.
●	Used Figma AI to synthesize insights from 9 interviews across 4 user groups (staff, national partners, community partners, sponsors, and users), speeding up research.
●	Leveraged Lovable to quickly iterate on design options and arrive at a user-aligned final solution.
●	Delivered high-fidelity prototypes that earned strong stakeholder support for a clearer, more modern, and visually polished redesign.

### Product Designer @ Quality of Life Inc.
Jan 2025 – Jan 2026
● Designing a mental wellbeing app for youth in collaboration with the NGO to expand accessibility to their wellness programs.
● Conducted user research, including interviews with the facilitator and classroom observations, to identify key themes and structure app features.
● Designed wireframes and refined them with developers and the program facilitator based on feedback.
● Currently working on a UI style guide and high-fidelity prototypes.

### UI Designer @ Unknown
Jan 2025 – Jan 2025 | Fremont, California, United States
● Designed a cohesive user interface with typography, color schemes, and UI elements for ELIF, a Chrome extension that simplifies complex concepts and summarizes large textual information in 4-5 sentences or less.
● Created interactive prototypes and animations to enhance user engagement and gather feedback.
● Established a comprehensive design system for standardization and consistency.
● Collaborated with product managers and developers to ensure smooth design implementation.

### Software Development Engineer In Test @ Vibrant America
Jan 2017 – Jan 2018
● Collaborated with developers/product engineers to develop test scenarios for a web application.
● Manually ran the test scenarios that were identified, improving the overall reliability of the web application.
● Identified and automated test cases using Java for a report generation tool, resulting in increased accuracy and reduced testing time.
