Noah is a soft goods engineer creating drapes and pads for surgical tables. He brings his apparel and wearable tech background when working closely with engineers to develop soft good products. Noah's passion lies in creating wearable tech products that improve the quality of life for all of those who use them.

Develops surgical drapes for knee, hip, and trauma surgeries. Explores product workflow and deployment processes to improve operator's ease of use. Navigates the sterilization process throughout the design stages.
Designs padding for surgical tables to prevent pressure injuries, stabilize patients, and interface with the mechanical components of the tables including, accommodating for yaw and other range of motion requirements.
Characterizes and catalogs foams and medical-grade fabrics/materials.
Collaborates directly with Systems Engineering to meet specifications during development. Bridged specification requirements with manufacturer's capabilities to create products that achieved the requirements, hit appropriate deadlines, and minimize cost and time.
Writes risk documents (FMEAs), unit level specifications, test plans & protocols. Presents all product milestones to a company-wide.
Uses Adobe Illustrator and Solidworks to create patterns and drawings.
Executes unit tests on products and complete reports. Testing includes strength testing, seam testing, pressure testing, and QA tests.
Collaborates with Marketing to provide documentation to go with the products. Interviews Clinical Marketing, and surgeons, to get the point of view of the user. Provides documentation to a third party IP Firm.
Develops SOP and guides for the team. Writes a design guide that captured the nuance of the design process during the first release of product to aid in the second release. This document is used as an information database, a 'how to' guide, and as a training resource. This, in combination with, the templates I have created, allow for easy and efficient documentation to occur.
Lastly, I created a new drawing template that blends our mixture of mechanical and soft goods components. This allows us to communicate with a variety of vendor types in the same way and aids in communicating soft goods design details in a recognizable format for the greater engineering team.
