People are the essence and guiding star in my design practice. Talking to people energizes me and listening to their stories inspires me. Practicing design allows me to care for and connect with people in a special way and amplify (user) voices that are often overlooked in order to design experiences that are intuitive, elegant, and inclusive. I think of myself as a translator. I translate expertise, lived experience, and complex human dynamics into intentional designs. Having acted as the sole designer in multiple teams, I also frequently translate the design process into frameworks, tools, and processes that welcome and include non-designers; after all, design is a team sport ;). We believe that small personalized changes add up over time to create impactful and long-lasting improvement to sleep quality and thus health and well-being. We achieve this by amplifying human expertise through software, services and devices. ### Design Lead @ Novonate Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 Tasked as the primary designer and researcher in the development of a novel product for Novonate’s portfolio. Amongst other initiatives, I brought together and managed a diverse user & expert panel and introduced iterative design frameworks to the company’s design practice by facilitating 3 company wide design sprints. As a result, we successfully moved from loose concept to high-fidelity prototypes in only three months. ### Product Manager @ 3rd Stone Design Inc. Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 Leading a multidisciplinary team in the research and development of global health technologies to combat preventable deaths in neonatal care units in SubSaharan Africa, through the NEST360 effort. Responsibilities included product-market fit evaluations, market sizing & user research. ### Design Specialist @ Smile Train Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 Partnership with Stanford University through the Design For Extreme Affordability Social - E lab. Lead the design and development of a mobile application to allow the use of telehealth in the orthodontic treatment for cleft palate patients under Smile Train; a global NGO that partners with local hospitals and practitioners to offer surgical services and comprehensive cleft care for children in their own communities. ### Graphic Designer, Communications Strategy @ American Red Cross Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 Consulted for the American Red Cross in strategies for a more efficient communication and onboarding process for their new Disaster Cycles and Recovery System (DCRS) Co-created guidelines for doctrine and training documents to be used by thousands of current and new volunteers around the country. ### Founder @ Projeto Mão Dada Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | Rio de Janeiro Area, Brazil Projeto Mao Dada is an independent research project that aims to redefine and redesign prosthetic devices for children. Our goal: to build an adjustable and affordable hand prosthetic that adequately fits a diverse array of shapes and sizes with minor modifications that the user can make themselves. With that, we plan to empower kids to their own healthcare as well as provide practitioners with high quality devices which are scalable and consequently affordable. For two years, I lead a team of 5 people in research and development of what we believe is the next step in low-cost prosthetics for children. During that time, we worked closely with doctors, occupational therapists, other healthcare professionals and of course, the children and their families in true co-creation. ### Product Owner @ Petróleo Ipiranga Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 | Rio de Janeiro Strategic communications and development of the over 1700 Jet Oil franchises in promoting a successful, relatable and relevant business across the many cultures that exist within Brazil.
