# Oliver Borris > Software Engineer at Truist Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/oliverborris From the time I was a child, I've always found myself to be particularly curious about the way things worked. I used to play with toy cars and train sets and try to find ways to break them and put them back together again. Sometimes I was successful, many times I was not. Eventually my family stopped buying me toys. This interest followed me up and through college, where I decided to pursue electrical engineering. This experience allowed me to refine my ability to design, build, troubleshoot, and implement engineering/technology solutions. Currently im working as a software engineering, with a particular interest in cloud computing. Im now able to break and fix things everyday, usually with code. Aside from technology, I also have a passion for community service. I spend time with non-profit organizations and after-school programs trying to help the youth discover their passions and reach their goals. Feel free to send me a message if you would like to know more/discuss potential opportunities. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer, Cloud Governance @ Truist Jan 2024 – Present • Identified opportunities for automation within cloud governance operations, designing and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and minimize manual intervention. • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to assess the operational readiness of cloud services (AWS/Azure), ensuring secure and efficient implementation of approved services. • Developed and maintained comprehensive technical documentation for internal cloud policies, standards, and procedures to support compliance and operational consistency. • Monitored emerging trends in cloud technology, proactively recommending updates to practices and tools to maintain cutting-edge cloud governance strategies. ### Software Engineer, Digital Enablement & Quality Engineering @ Truist Jan 2021 – Jan 2024 •Worked to establish, integrate, and govern continuous compliance framework across all cloud-based digital applications utilizing policy as code, static code analysis, and automated code reviews. •Developed custom policies built around NIST Cybersecurity Framework to reduce risk, champion best practices, and improve our overall security posture for technology operations. •Created and delivered technical training material to delivery teams on the Quality Engineering shared responsibility model and continuous compliance framework, worked collaboratively with GRC and DevOps affiliates to establish preventative practices and guidance with remediation of non-compliant resources and code. ### Technology and Innovation Program Analyst @ Truist Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Washington, District of Columbia, United States ### Electrical Engineer @ MITRE Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University ### Master of Science - MS in Advanced Computing Morgan State University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/oliver-borris --- Source: https://flows.cv/oliverborris JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/oliverborris/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-05
