As a senior engineer I ensure guests have a quick, easy, and secure checkout experience. I serve as a leader on my team, helping provide technical direction, mentor more junior engineers, and onboard experienced engineers new to the cart and checkout space. I also like to do what I can to support my colleagues whether its rubber ducking or pair programing on hard problems, answering questions that require deep domain expertise, or finding innovative solutions to tedious parts of our developer experience.
Some of my contributions include:
•Improved testing & development experience by introducing storybook our teams workflow.
•Improved functional test stability by using cypress which reduced our dependence on production services
•Led my engineering team through a redesign of the payment experience
•Implemented Apple pay using the Web Payment Request API, expanding the payment options available to guests
•Improved development environment experience by automating nginx reverse proxy setup using docker
•Implementing an improved Save For Later experience for guests in cart
•Coaching, mentoring and onboarding interns and engineers rotating on our team
•Providing technical leadership for the product team as we implement new features for cart & checkout
