Promise works with governments and utilities to help those in need pay their bills. We provide financial assistance tools through technology, like interest free payment plans and relief distribution for lower income Americans.

I joined Promise in a full stack (backend leaning) role as the 7th individual contributor at the time, before moving to become a Tech Lead.

Role as Tech Lead: Enabled the team to deliver at a high level for our users and customer organizations. This included software design + coding, team processes + project planning, code + design review for my team, career growth + mentorship for my three reports and everything in between.

Highlight: led all things technical for the new relief data match verification and outreach product, to help serve the states that partnered with us and give out millions of dollars of relief to lower income Americans, without them needing to submit an application form or take any time out of their day. Government working at it's best!

Full Stack Engineer (backend leaning)

Designed and implemented new multi-tenant microservices, enabled experimentation at Promise through a third party integration, integrated with Very Good Security on both FE + BE for compliant SSN storage, developed our relief backend service for our greenfield relief application product and built the first in-code alerting flow through the product at the company (amongst many other projects).

Mindstrong is a teletherapy platform that provides personalized care to those who need it. Mindstrong does this with a passive mental health monitoring system using biomarkers, an in house clinical team and a member-facing mobile app.

I joined Mindstrong when it was a series C company, and the engineering team was ~30 engineers.
