I'm working to further the study of gerrymandering and congressional redistricting. I also work on operations research problems related to Tufts' response to the coronavirus pandemic.
•Designed, developed, and deployed an algorithm for scheduling coronavirus tests for 10,000 people at Tufts University using Google OR-Tools (mixed integer programming) and Flask.
•Implemented Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithms for gerrymandering detection and redistricting analysis in Julia, speeding up core lab workflows by several orders of magnitude.
•Designed highly parallel algorithms for redistricting analysis (scaling to hundreds of cores).
•Coordinated with IT and logistics stakeholders at Tufts University and Wellesley College in the development and maintenance of a React Native-based app for coronavirus test scheduling.
•Designed a data pipeline and mixed integer programming-based algorithm for matching hospitals to universities with excess bed capacity for coronavirus relief.
