Tech lead for the video calling experience in the Messenger Desktop app for Mac and Windows collaborating with other leads on the successful release of a complete rewrite of the app from Electron to React Native for a more native, full-featured and integrated video calling experience. This included self-directed deep dive investigations into release metrics, performance issues and subsequent perf wins, and crashes and subsequent fixes. For this role, I mostly built in Typescript but also contributed some native code in C++, C, and Objective-C.
