# Patrick Jones > Senior Software Engineer at Hayden AI Location: Belmont, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/patrickjones Check out https://about.me/patrickjjones or keep reading. I'm a passionate programmer in cybersecurity and AI. I've been working for Google for the last five years, initially on the Google Cloud SDK and more recently on backend support for onboarding to GCP. Prior to that I spent two years building software to decode and analyze 802.11 traffic for 802Secure (Now renamed to LOCH Technologies). ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Hayden AI Jan 2025 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area ### Software Engineer @ Google Jan 2020 – Jan 2025 | Sunnyvale, California, United States Since October 2021 I've been working on infrastructure for onboarding to Google Cloud. In this capacity I've contributed Java code to Google's backend in order to streamline existing pipelines to onboard to Google Cloud as well as supporting onboarding to new product features. As our team lacked SRE support, I also rotated through on-call shifts where I was responsible for the team's CI/CD pipeline and for handling pages relating to service availability and other metrics. From March 2020-October 2021 I worked on the SDK for authentication, identity, and onboarding for Google Cloud. While in that role, I was responsible for the Golang component of my team's work, contributing to https://github.com/googleapis/google-api-go-client; other team members worked on Java, Python, and C++. ### Software Engineer @ Self Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Berkeley, California Looking for the next place to be. ### Software Engineer @ 802 Secure Inc Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area I spent the two years building software to decode and analyse 802.11 traffic for 802Secure. The product is cloud-based wireless (e.g., 802.11, Bluetooth, ZigBee) security that detects wireless threats and vulnerabilities . It was deployed for multiple years at DefCon, and at DefCon 2018 I worked on it in SecOps. I wrote an 802.11 parser & scanner. The scanner looks for things like KRACK attacks, evil twins, malformed packets, de-auth attacks and WiFi Pineapples. I wrote most of my tests, using tools like Aircrack-ng as needed. I had to dig down into threats to figure out how to mimic (for testing) and detect them. I also had to dive into the IEEE 802.11 spec (802.11-2016 is 3.5K pages of standard-ese). ### Mathematics Tutor @ Self-Employed Jan 2013 – Jan 2017 | Berkeley, California Tutored students in mathematics (precalc, single- and multi-variable calculus, discrete mathematics) and physics (classical physics, thermodynamics, E&M). ### Course Reader @ University of California, Berkeley Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 | Berkeley, California Graded and gave feedback on coursework+exams for CS188 Artificial Intelligence; also held informal office hours to help students who were struggling. ### Lab Assistant/TA @ University of California, Berkeley Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 | Berkeley, California Lab assistant and informal TA for CS61A Introduction to Computer Science. ### Research Assistant @ University of California, Berkeley Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 | Berkeley, California Worked as a volunteer on a research team working in the UCB Swarm Lab. The project goal was to control locust flight. Used X86 & MIPS assembly to interface between a Linux system and a MIPS microcontroller mounted on the locust. ### Tutor @ West Valley College Jan 2011 – Jan 2013 | Saratoga, California I provided eight hours a week of tutoring to West Valley students at the Math Resource Center. The MRC was an open center for students to come in as-needed to get help with their mathematics courses. I helped students with work ranging from trigonometry/pre-calc through to single- and multi-variable calculus. ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science University of California, Berkeley ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/patrick-j-jones - Website: https://about.me/patrickjjones - Website: https://github.com/Galadros --- Source: https://flows.cv/patrickjones JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/patrickjones/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-01
