• Implemented various user-facing and internal features of Brilliant’s flagship smart home control in Python and C++

• Assisted with the integration of Brilliant’s Bluetooth Mesh smart dimmer switch and plug into the Brilliant IoT ecosystem, implementing control-side support for many features and APIs, debugging various Mesh network problems, consistently working to optimize for reliability and network and CPU load, and leading efforts aimed at improving Mesh network performance

• Served as the primary engineering point of contact for Brilliant’s manufacturers, remotely debugging time-sensitive production problems encountered at the factory and updating the tools necessary for manufacturing as new hardware products were released

• Mentored four software engineer interns across three summers within the control software teams, tech leading their projects, providing technical guidance, and ensuring a smooth and timely release of the features to users

• Implemented an alarm clock feature for the Brilliant control

• Added support for representing stubbed third party devices during control sales demos

• Integrated into a horizontal directional drill locator an embedded GPS module (in C and C++) that stored and processed time series data.
