# Patriss Wais Moradi > Bioinformatics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Software Engineering Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/patriss Motivated by making the world a better place through technology. My interests lie on the application of machine learning methods, especially deep learning, on genomics data. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Plasmidsaurus Jan 2025 – Present ### Founding Software Engineer @ MantleBio Jan 2023 – Jan 2025 | San Francisco, California, United States Acquired by Collate ### Senior Software Engineer @ Cellanome Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 ### Software Engineer @ Cellanome Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 ### Bioinformatics Engineer and Data Scientist @ GRAIL, Inc. Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Menlo Park, California, United States ### Associate Scientist, Bioinformatics and Data Science @ GRAIL, Inc. Jan 2016 – Jan 2021 | Menlo Park, CA ### Lab Manager @ UCSF Jan 2013 – Jan 2016 | San Francisco, CA Study of immune responses and barriers to engraftment of in utero stem cell transplantation. Research projects included: • Study how to overcome the hematopoietic space niche by depleting host HSCs with a novel antibody against the ckit (CD117c). • Placental drug delivery for treatment of hematopoietic disorders. • Creation of a hematopoietic multi-lineage chimeric mouse, by performing in utero transplantation of human CD34+ into fetal NSG mice. Techniques: - Flow Cytometry. - Maintenance of immunodeficient NSG colony. - In utero HSC transplantation into fetal mice. - CD34+ isolation from human Cord Blood. - Experience with using CRISPR-Cas9. - Real Time quantitative Reverse Transcription PCR. - Immunophenotyping - Immunohistochemistry - Survival mouse surgeries ### Senior Research Technician @ Weill Cornell Medicine Jan 2011 – Jan 2013 | New York City, NY I helped set a new infectious disease lab that studies fungal infections in the immunocompromised patient population. One of the overarching goals was to assess new therapeutic agents against common fungal pathogens. l studied the pharmacokinetics of novel anti fungal agents in an immunosuppressed animal model. Side projects: • Established technique on isolation of Exserohilum rostratum (E. rostratum) conidia for in vitro and in vivo experiments to identify suitable therapeutic agents. • Used the Bliss surface independent statistical model, to determine synergy between two fungicidal drugs against E. rostratum. • Coordinated, and conducted the Cornell division of a multi centered Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) study evaluating the MIC and MEC of Aspergillus, and Candida species against Isavuconazole, and Voriconazole. ### Student Research assistant @ Weil Cornell Medical School Jan 2010 – Jan 2010 | New York City, NY I am a student research assistant at the Microbiology and Immunology department of Weil Cornell Medical Center. I assisted the staff of the lab in carrying Molecular tests. ### Student Research Assistant @ Stanford University School of Medicine Jan 2009 – Jan 2009 | Palo Alto, CA I did an undergraduate summer research internship at the Clinical laboratories, where I shadowed pathology residents, and also did independent research under the director of the Clinical Lab. Project: My project was to assess and test out a new automated Gram staining machine for use in clinical labs. ## Education ### Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and Immunology University of California, Davis ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/p-wais-moradi --- Source: https://flows.cv/patriss JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/patriss/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-05
