Leading mechanical design & development of bioreactor systems for Dept. of Defense (DOW) project, spanning benchtop, pilot, and demonstration scales — with focus on UV-sterilisation and safety.
• Owning a research-driven engineering process: hypothesis generation, experimental design, data analysis, and translation into iterative design improvements.
• Driving engineering research into UV sterilization parameters to optimize geometry, material selection, and system design for repeatable sterility and durability
• Leading impeller and seal systems using FDA-approved materials and coatings, ensuring compatibility with alternative sterilization processes
• Designing, prototyping, and iterating rapidly with plastics & specialty materials (e.g., ULTEM PEI1000) to deliver scalable, sterile, and UV-compatible reactor components.
• Optimizing systems for manufacturability, sustainability, and reliability under sterile production conditions.
• Innovating new manufacturing workflows & assembly methods to enable cost-effective, scalable production.
• Leading cross-functional design reviews across hardware, process, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment.
