Provide direct real-time support for North America EDA/CAD issues, specifically for all digital front end flow tools.
Help roll out the major company wide regression software; interface with the India team constantly via evening meetings on feature development and meet targets in QA regression verification.
Document common support issues into a FAQ for users to expand self-sufficient debug and troubleshooting skills; own and execute on key independent tasks towards program requirements within timeline and constraints.
Research internal & external resources (e.g. manuals, Confluence database), engage and align with various interdisciplinary teams to ultimately provide solutions to a diverse user base.

Developed a QA infrastructure (Regression program) that tests PDK development activities, successfully used by six developers; shares daily QA results in a dashboard.
Works closely with PDK developers to ensure a smooth transition from their current flows (manual with a few scripts), to a program that runs their test cases and reports pass/ fail results onto a web page.
Developed a backend program in Python from scratch, functional for DRC, Place and Route, Extraction, and LVS.
2009 — 2023

• Manages 9 engineers globally (Germany, India, Bulgaria), regarding software development & maintenance, releases, and licenses; represents the PDK group for all Salesforce and Admin issues.
• Helped architect the cloud, enabling design development internally as well as offering the capability to customers.
• Champions resource management: determines competing priorities to balance processes and deliveries accordingly.
• Governs millions of dollars in EDA Tool & Licensing, including installation, user support, usage reports, and contract reviews. Established License Usage Policies to drive tool cost efficiency.
• Supports niche negotiations & procurement by pulling relevant data and reviewing prior and existing contracts.
• Releases PDK (Process Design Kits) design tools for both external customer access and internal CAD projects.
• Runs special projects in-house: a device database web app (DeBice), PDK release software (PAS), DM DRC rule database & associated apps (Datamart, DRC Worklist, DM Differ), QA Regression software (BAT), and more.
• Drives CAD support for the entire company's internal IC Design Development.
• Streamlines the overall release flow, improving automation & methodology efficacy: moved activity for the PDK release qualification onto a single server farm, and auto-generated release notes, reducing engineer work by 20%.
• Drive a Post-Mortem Process to dig deep into bug issues to identify the root cause and prevent reoccurrence.
2009 — 2023
• Given a broad charter managing QA for DRC – the most critical PDK component (formal qualification for new & existing semiconductor technologies) – for various technologies (CMOS, FinFet, FDSOI, etc.). Grew org from 1 to a productive and flexible team of 25+ engineers globally (NA, Singapore, Dresden, Bulgaria).
• Authored BAT, a fully automated QA regression software (Python) from scratch that built and carried out test cases, and generated critical progress statistics on project progress. Used extensive multiprocessing, running tests for thousands of test cases from a single push button on LSF servers, as well as a webpage monitoring the system.
• Qualified DRC ruledecks, checking 1,000+ rules as per the Design Manual, successfully minimizing bugs and therefore cost & schedule disruption, as well as time to market.
• Established methodology and policy for bug tracking systems (BugZilla, Salesforce).
Drove synergy among QA engineers via standardized protocol allowing flexibility between technologies (creating tests and submitting updated cases into the Perforce repository, evaluating failures, making corrections, reporting).
2005 — 2009
• Championed a real-time online build, test, & release monitoring system, critical to guarantee functionality.
• Built and ran extensive test development & evaluations that qualified new versions of Open Access in preparation for monthly releases both internally and externally to the SI2 Coalition for public distribution.
• Spearheaded multiple release streams using the Perforce revision control software.
• Maintained and enhanced the internal test reporting website, run with Perl, PHP and SQL databases thus allowing visibility to the development team of real-time results.
